Do Merrell Shoes Run Wide or Narrow?

I have the popular Merrell Moab 2 and they’ve been great. They are also available for wide feet. While I did get the medium fit and can attest to them fitting nicely, I can’t speak to their wide fit hiking shoes.
I did however visit the reviews on Amazon for the Merrell Moab for Men and searched “wide fit”. I got back 20 results from people saying they were pleased with their wide fit Merrells. To me that would be good enough to go ahead and pull the trigger on them.
Do Merrell shoes run small?
I wear a size 11 and ordered a size 11 Merrell. Mine fit perfectly, however as with all things your mileage may vary. As I was reading through the Amazon reviews for my Merrell Moab 2 hiking shoes I noticed a trend of them not fitting the same for everyone.
It seems that for most people they either fit true to size or run about a half size small. However, there was more than one reviewer reporting that they actually ran big. So who knows what’s going on with the sizing with these shoes. As I said, my Merrell Moab 2 hiking shoes fit true to size. The below screenshot shows what Amazon reviewers are saying about how their Merrell Moab 2 waterproof hiking shoes fit them. According to this, 82% of Amazon reviewers said their Merrell hiking shoes fit as expected. This also shows that more people reported them running small than big, backing up what I found myself in the reviews.

My recommendation would be either to order your normal size, or a half size bigger to be safe. Some people have reported the newer Merrells may run small.
Do Merrell hiking boots run true to size?
I don’t actually own Merrell hiking boots but my Moabs fit me true to size. So if I were I to order Merrell hiking boots I would order size 11. For hiking boots right now, I’m using my Timberland White Ledge. Although these waterproof Merrells may be my next pair.
It seems that as with the Merrell Moab hiking shoes we get a mix of reports as to whether or not they actually fit true to size. I did some more digging in Amazon reviews I discovered that the ratio of “fits true to size” to “order a half size up” is about 50/50.
